Background Info:
The farmland and the corporation that runs it is owned by a land trust. In forming a co-operative society on the land, we are able to offer lifelong membership for housing in exchange for part-time work on the farm. Co-op members report to the farm manager for work assignments but are not to be considered skilled employees without training or any necessary certification. This means co-op members are not to be assigned work with heavy equipment or other technical job assignments without the prerequisite training.
Summary:
Farm hands will coordinate their tasks with the Farm Manager, working on their own initiative.
Experience:
Some experience would be helpful; must be physically fit, will train for all aspects of the job.

- Tending to livestock: Feeding, watering, and monitoring the health of animals such as chicken, cows, sheep, and goats.
- Operating machinery: Operating machinery for tasks like milking or egg-packing.
- Planting and harvesting crops: Planting, fertilizing, cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting crops.
- Cleaning and maintaining facilities: Cleaning and maintaining barns, barnyards, and pens.
- General labor: Performing other general labor duties as needed.
- Ensuring safety: Ensuring that safety standards are followed.
- Salary: $75,000/year
- Health: $7,774.24
- RRSP: $4,000 (4%)
- Live-In: $4,500
- Vacation: $4,412.50 (3 weeks to start)
- CPP: $3,962.90
- EI: $1048.66
- Meals provided at community kitchen.
- On-site housing and company vehicle provided by employer.
Total Yearly Compensation: $100,698.30 (amounts are subject to adjustments)
